Damn, i am fine with my stock system, plenty loud enough at any speeds I drive(many places here I ride legally at 80mph) and when two up or communicating with other bikes equiped with radios, my jm headset for 1/2 hemets or no helmet is just super. My biggest gripe is noise senstivity switching. Until harley can fix that, I have to say I am quite pleased. BTW, adding an amp will reduce power needed to get better clarirty and response. You can get same results with 40% less volume . Volume will eventaully peak out the performance and destortion sets in. Headphones are the only way to go.IMHO

Thanks for all of the opinions! If I am at slower speeds it seems to be fine but when I hit highway speeds with a head wind you can't hear anything. I am considering installing a 6.5" Klock Works windshield, maybe this will help? I don't have any shops around here (in Dallas that I know of) that have a display to where I can check the different manufactures out. That sucks.

We have the Rokkers in our bikes with the J&M amp and they sound superb. We sell them at a great discount as well.

I am pretty short (5'-7"), I am worried that if I get an 8" windsheild it will be like looking through the windshield of a car.

Wow. I own a $350 Hogtunes setup (amp and speakers) in my ride and J&M 7.25 without amp in the wife's ride. Next to each other there is little to no difference in output and sound quality yet the J&Ms without amp cost $150 less. Too me that is the better deal and I won't be buying Hogtunes again.
