Default Really Want a Road King but...

I"m really digging the Road King but I'm 6' 2" with a 32" inseam and size 15 shoes, which poses a problem with the footboards and controls. What have you other tall folks out there done to your Kings to help them fit you better? Any pics?

Get the reach seat and floorboard extensions.

I'm 6'3" w/size 14 shoes. There are a number of things you can do that will not only help fit the bike better to you, but make it YOUR bike, and not just a RK.

Floorboard extensions are an absolute must. It made a world of difference for me.
There are plenty of seat and handle bar options for you to use, and there are also different height windshields. You may want to check out your local HD dealer to see if they have one of the 'fit shop' bikes in the showroom that usually has a few different handlebar and seat options for you to check out.

Yep, all the above. Might want to look into extended shifters and brake pedals as well. They made a world of difference for me and my size 14 boots. I got the Kury ISO boards due to their size, and added the EZ shifters and brake pedals, but it looks like they are out of business. Kury makes some extended versions though. Saves you from having to ride pigeon toed all the time.

Smile You will fit just fine

I'm 6'3" pushing 275lbs and a 12in shoe...RK is built for guys llike us and I looked at everything.

Every Harley is going to need seat & bars regardless..

I'm running an '02 RK with Mustang Touring Seat, Harley Tallboy bars, and I'm just fine. I do have floorboard extenders but haven't installed them yet.

BTW - the guy I bought my bike from was 6'5" and made me feel small

I'm 6'2 with a 36" inseam & equally long arms.
I have Accutronix forward controls (+9"),
a Mustang solo w/backrest,
& 16" Wild1 Chubbies.
I feel like I'm sitting "in" the bike, not "on" it the way I did with footboards.
See my sig pic.

i have a good friend who has an older road king. every once in a while when we're riding together we'll swap bikes. i like the way his 05 road king rides. it feels a lot different than my 08 streetglide. the next bike for me might be a roadking, i like that you can strip them down or dress them up for touring. that's tough to do with a batwing faired bike. also, there are a few companies that have a clip on batwing fairing if you're so inclined. the road kings are truly a universal bike in that regard. making them fit your size isn't a big deal at all. one of the great parts with the road kings is that you don't have six gauges and a big *** fairing in front of you to monkey with if you want to change out the handlebars.

I agree about the RK it is the best of the HD line . It is a "CAN DO" it all bike and this is from a guy who 3 weeks ago just got a new Classic , lol !
I was on the fence because I do love the all around stuff the RK is, Well maybe next time!
Go get it !

I removed the heel shifter because I didn't use it that much and I kept accidentally bumping into it. A lot more room for your foot.
