Look at your bill for the new tires, and ask yourself if, for that much money, somebody at the dealership souldn't have looked after this when the wheels were off the bike.
It's nice that all these fellas on the board have remedies for removing the blue, but, if I were you I'd be having a little talk to the service manager. Five minutes per wheel, with them off the bike, I know, I just had my front replaced by an Indy and watched while the kid took the time to do a real good job getting that $hit off.
You're paying for service, get some!

 

No need for Simple Green, Brillo pads, turpentine, or any thing else if you have access to a hose with hot water. Hot water will rinse the blue right off. No rubbing required.

Mr. Clean magic eraser. Get a few of them. They work well, but you will probably wear out one or two of them.

 

This Westley's is the only way to go for sure. You can spray on white lettering on a car tire that hasn't been washed for months and it turns them as white as paper.

 

all the tires I've ever had to buy were solid blackwall, or at least with the black facing out, but for my 4-wheel rides, they're all low profile sport tires or oversized off-road or mud terrains. tires for my other bikes are all off-road or sport-track, never any white...

I agree, I'm not that pleased with the dealer's lack of attention to detail.

Since it rained on our rally today, I had a chance to lay down in the garage with an old toothbrush, an old coffee mug full of warm soapy water and a spray bottle of 409 (out of simple green in my garage) and was able to get that blue stuff off to my satisfaction, but it took me almost 40 minutes!

Gracias for all of the tips and I was wondering about the Westy's stuff. Guess I'll give it a try. Hope it stops raining for a quick ride tomorrow morning.

 

You should have used the westleys tire bleach. You would have been done in 2 minutes.............BG

I have also had good luck with "Westley's Bleach White" spray cleaner.

 

Westley's Bleche White it's called. Best stuff in the world. I just cleaned about two weeks of grime off my wide white walls on my RKC this morning and it's as easy as spraying it on, letting it sit for a minute or two, giving it a quick wipe with a wet rag (that you don't mind ruining), and then rinsing. Voila! White walls so white they hurt to look at 'em!
