Harley Davidson Garage Door Opener Kit

First determine if you have the old "dip switch" opener, or the newer "rolling code" opener. Then determine if you have a 9 volt remote or a 12 volt remote. If you have a newer 12 volt, "rolling code" opener, just go get a cheap remote transmitter. Teach it your code, wire it to the 12 volt system on the bike, & splice an extension to a button of your choice.
If you have the older 9 volt "dip switch" opener you can either locate the remote where it's easy to change batteries every year or two, or add a 12 volt system to your garage door opener. Even that is less expensive than Harley's version.............

Wow, can't believe it. Got a Linear mini-T compatible Ladybug keychain remote from Amazon.com for a bit over 8 bucks. Keep it with my security fob. Opens the door a block away. Saved a lot of money and didn't have to screw with my wiring. Amazing what people would do to deal with an extremely simple obstacle. They should work for the government.

18BKLER and Mikebaby---> Great to hear! I found mine in the basement and am staring at it on my desk. Have looked at the bike and am trying to figure out where to put it and not have it stick out. Where did you put yours? Sounds like at least one of you removed stock buttons?

I'm still having a great laugh with this thread.
"Take this wire and solder it to the circuit board and then drill a hole in your fairing for the switch then buy a 12 VDC to 9 VDC adapter and velcro it into the fairing. Then after spending who knows how much money and tearing apart your bike you can open your garage door!"
Or you can be like me and reach in your pocket for your fob with attached mini remote you bought at Amazon.com for about 8 bucks, hit the switch from up to a block away and pull into the garage. Whew! that was hard.
