One day I was throwing away some warranty parts at an auto dealership. Found a sunvisor that was warrantied for a vanity bulb and ripped out the Homelink. Had no idea why I might need one, but I pulled it out today and am gonna figure out a sexy way to make it a part of my bike. I'll be able to control up to 3 garage doors for free. Cross your fingers for me. I hope I helped someone with an idea. Maybe a junkyard? Maybe you or a friend work at a dealership?
Now thats creative. Never thought of the home link option. That would work. All it needs is battery.

I was thinking this

http://www.electronickits.com/kit/co...lec/ck1617.htm

You could build the board and power the xmt off of the bike and wire the button to your high/low switch. This would also require you to wire the rec board into the opener. All that would be is battery and 2 wires going to the wires that are already there for your button. This relay drive would drive the signal to open and close the door. Many options are out there. I just want to know if you put battery on that home link if it will take your coded from your remote.

Makes me want to go gut it out of the new chevy and try it

Extra opener is the key. This is the way. I was over thinking it to much. Homelink is also an option. I am thinking that is the route I will take. That way it is programmable so when a guy moves your still good to go. Have to figure out the wiring for the trigger though to see where its going to go. Maybe that worthless speaker switch I bought just to fill the last hole it.

*LOL* You are gonna rape your new Chevy to get a garage door opener for the bike!? Nice, you are a true biker!!! When I say I ripped it out of the visor I guess I didn't choose my words right. I destroyed the visor but was very careful around my new Homelink. Kept all the wires connected. :-) As long as the bike starts the Homelink will work. As all Homelink's work I can learn the code from the base OR from one of the garage door openers.

Was pretty simple for my SG all I had to do was take off the outter fairing cover and everything was right there in front of me. I tell you it was a breeze for me.

PS: I know it is a little expensive, but, as someone else said I got it for XMAS so it didn't cost me anything

Just got one for 10 bucks. Will photo the install and draw a WD when I install. Going to have to gut the thing and see how it ticks. Then I will install. I am trying to think of a way to keep it out of the batwing so when you want to reprogram you don't have to rip the fairing apart. I am thinking in the side cover where the fuses are and battery off of the Aux port. That way I can use the switched signal from the Aux switch to trigger it. Not sure yet but that is the way I am steering.

Do it.......that would be great!
