Avon tire pressure
I just had a new set of Avon Venon X's put on my 2007 Road King Custom. Man, what a difference from the stock Dunlops! I remember reading on here that the Venom's require higher air pressure than Dunlops and I called Avon's customer service to find out the recommended pressure. The guy I spoke to recommended 38 front and 44 rear for my bike. The way he came across to me on the phone was a bit less than knowledgeable so I would like to know if those pressures sound right to those of you who ride with Venom X's. I ride solo 95% of the time. Thanks.

I've had my venom's for about 2 years and here are the recommendations Avon provided at that time.
Solo: Front 38-40, Back 44
2-Up Light: Front 40-41, Back 46
2-Up Heavy: Front 42-43, Back 48-50
I ride with 40 front and back when riding solo and increase the back to 44-45 when riding 2-up.

Well I tried Spider's recommendation of 68 front & 83 rear and the ride was just a bit harsh. I called Avon customer service again and got a guy who seemed very knowledgeable this time. He confirmed 38 front and 44 rear. He did say I could lower it if seemed too stiff by a few pounds but no less than 36 front and 42 rear.

I had also contacted Avon when I first got a set. I have a 150 on the back of my '07 SG. I use a local Indy for my service work and he is a Racer, Florida Champion various times. He reccommends 40/40 Solo. 44 rear when two up. Never a problem. (Avon reccommended a 45/50 which I felt was too high).

I put on Venoms at 12,000 miles. I run 42 in the back and 39 in the front. I have put 11,000 miles on the tires and still measure 6/32, so he told you right, they last longer with more air than the 36 they recommend for Dunlops. I'm staying with the Venoms, great cornering and smooooooth ride
