Good question. Can't tell from the pics I've seen in the Spring catalog or the website. So SE what is the verdict on the looks of the chrome?

I picked up a set this week, as luck would have it, it was the last set they had for a TBW bike. If you have a TBW bike the only grips that are available are the Magnums, nothing smaller. They don't really seem much if any larger than stock, nowhere near as large as the name implies. I have not installed them but would like to hear from somebody that has them and has some miles on them.
By the way, no, the chrome does not look like chrome plastic, I'm sure they are plastic, but they look metal.

What Eddie says. When I get them on, I will let everyone know. I was also expecting them to be a bigger diameter. Seem pretty comfy sitting in the lazy boy.

Kinda both, this was my only gripe with them. I just can't see how they would be comfortable on a long trip. The "rubber" portion does NOT feel like the Renthal rubber PM, RS, and Avon uses. It's very hard like a plastic. I like the diameter of the magnums, but the rubber feels like crap.

Just my $0.02 anyways. I highly suggest anyone interested in these grips check them out first in "person".

I LOVED the Avon's on my old RKC, these grips feel nothing like them.

Default Rubber

I never tested the others, but I agree with the both soft and kinda hard thoughts. I hope these are both a posative for me because the grip factor I hope will be good with or without gloves. Another reason for getting these, I hope they transmit the heat from the heat demons well. Will keep everyone posted when I have them on for a while.

I tried a pair of the Magnums for a few days and took them off. My best guess is that the rubber HD is using is Renthal rubber. Avon is using Kraton rubber. Comparing Kraton to Renthal or Avon to Performance Machine grips is just goofy. Performance Machine grips are solid billet. Avon is using billet caps and plastic parts. For about ~$23 more one could have the real deal vs. a clone.

The rubber on the Magnums feels awesome, soft and pliable just like Renthal and the grips have a nice contoured angle that fits the natural shape of the hand. The shape and size is close to HD's Nostalgic hand grips which I love. The reason I returned these is because I don't like the overall appearance of the chrome. The chrome appears to be formed tin over plastic. Looks like Kuryakyn could have made these.
