Default Cruise Control

My cruise control on my 09 Glide is very sensitive. Is there an adjustment for this so that it doesnt turn off so easily? Some times even bumps in the road turns it off. What Gives?

Yeah mine too, doesn't take much for the throttle to think you shut it down. Bumps, bridge approaches etc. just the weight of your hand on the grip and the right bump will cancel mine.

Maybe that is just int he 2009's. My 2010 is rock solid. I've never had it shut off on me, and we have some crappy roads around here.

Mine is a 09 ultra and have never had it shut off with 26,000 miles and a lot of touring around the country.

My 2011 has never shut itself off either. But I'll admit I haven't had it long enough to do thorough testing.

A few things to keep in mind, so you can rule them out.
All it takes is a very slight tap on the front brake, back brake, or clutch lever.
If your fingers are gripping either of the handlebar levers, any bump could cause you to ever so slightly tap one of them and cause the cruise to disengage.

My 09 Ultra has done it a few times. Dealer says that unless they can get it to do it on a consistent basis it would be impossible to diagnose and fix.

Odd. My 09 has only done it a couple times on really bumpy roads. I have 21k on the bike and I use the cruise a lot

My buddy was having a problem with his doing the same. He put different grips on and when he did the front brake switch wasn't adjusted correctly. When he would hit a bump the brake switch would make contact disengaging the cruise. If you've changed something that might be the culprit. Have someone ride behind you at night to see if your brake lights flicker.

Are these (ones with disengage problem) all factory installed cruise or added after delivery?
