Default Adjustable Backrest with Reach Seat

Is anyone using the adjustable backrest with a reach seat on 09+ Ultra or Limited? I need a backrest and like the quick adjustablility but worry it may be too tall for the reach seat. I have the reach seat and had to replace the handle strap with a much shorter one (about 6") so I'm assuming the standard seat is taller. Is this correct or is the difference in the width of the seat only.

I have the super reduced reach seat and use the HD backrest. I removed the useless strap. 2010 Limited.

Is yours the adjustable backrest that has a button to move it back and forth while riding?

I also remove the useless strap as soon as I get the bike home. The adjustable back rest works fine with the reach seat. It seems to be slightly pressed against the opening in the seat at certain adjustments but it will work fine.

I use the standard rider backrest with the reach seat on my street glide and it works great.

The only problem that I have ran into is trying to get it in and out because of the thickness of the pillion.

So the backrest doesn't lay down like the mustang does?

I put the non-adjustable backrest on my Ultra. Basic question I had was once I found a comfortable position how often would I adjust the seat. Saved the $ and didn't go with adjustable. No problems since.

I also removed the strap asap. Useless.

I have the standard backrest. Adjusted it to where I was comfy, and left it like that. Put the allen wrench in my tour pack in case I felt the need to re-adjust.
TIP: If you are having problems with getting the backrest into the bracket, loosen the rear mounting tab so you can slide your hand under the seat and glide that sucker right into the bracket. This tip is very valuable if you have a stock Ultra seat.
