This thread is for drowning out our sorrows, not for optimism and bragging - we know you Southerners got it nice

Wouldn't know what it was like to not be able to ride all 12 months of the year. It must be a drag to see your bike sitting in the garage with a foot of snow right outside your window. I pity you guys/girls but when you finally do get to ride in the spring I bet it's really a great feeling.
You are 100% right about the first ride in spring. The snow has finally melted away and the air is fresh and clean. You push your bike out of the garage from its long winter rest. With the battery all charged, fluids all changed and looking better than the day you first brought her home you stand there just looking at her. Your palms are sweaty, your knees weak and you tremble in anticipation. You swing your leg over and pull her up straight. You take a deep breath then exhale slowly. You pull in the clutch and hit the starter button. She comes alive. Butterflies in your stomach then that familiar clunk as she goes into gear, the sound of the pipes, it's all music to your ears. You've waited 5 long cold snowy months for this moment. Your world is perfect, just you and your machine. Its the same feeling every spring and that first ride is always the best...........................Bg

Crud, you just reminded me Daylight Savings Time is about to end. Soon it will be dark going to work and dark coming home. Ugh.

That is very true, it makes you appreciate the warm weather when we have it - still.....I envy you warm climate folks!

Yeah, GreighWolf it's going to be tough riding down to Jekyll Island this weekend...But I'm in the Army so I'm soaking it up (as in the sun) as much as I can because with my luck my next duty station will be Fort Drum NY or Alaska or something!

Highs in the upper 70's all weekend in Savannah. Family in Buffalo got hammered last night..whole city shut down.
