Default Chrome trim rings

So I am putting the chrome trim rings on my gauges and get to the small rings and the two sided tape is really this and a pain in the butt to get on. Anybody have a suggestion? Silicone?

Used a drop of silicone at the 12-3-6 & 9 o' Clock positions.....worked great !
