[QUOTE=JMJOHN;8048515]mikebaby ,,,,,

the J&M 7.25" speakers will give you a real significant improvement over stock ,,, MSRP $249.99 for the complete kit ,,,,, and are easily the best performing speakers you can install in your Harley fairing, with or without an amp ,,,,

Iam sorry but give me a break....... Sounds like someone is a legend in there own mind. I mean come on seriously???

those types of accurate specs are just not possible to obtain on a motorcycle ,,,,,

first of all the motorcycle fairing certainly cannot be considered a good acoustical environment ,,,,

second ,,,, what the audio system sounds like sitting still has little to do with what it sounds like at high speeds,,,,,

you may get some other speaker company to give you lots of "feel good" printed specifications about their product ,,,, but it will be mostly BS in the real world of motorcycle audio ,,,
I've been avoiding this thread as soon as I saw the title...I knew it would be hard to bite my tongue.

BUT...I can NOT believe this response!!!!???? WTF???!!! Are you serious???!!! What's your R&D consist of...just put a whole bunch of different speakers in a fairing until you like one? Then buy a whole bunch and sell them? Dude, get out of here!!!!

I can't wait for AZ Bike Week...I'm sure you'll be there, being you're in Phoenix. Then I can hear JM products as they are meant to be.

I have the J&M 7.25's in my bike and I'm cool with them. I'm not out to ride through town trying to be cool rattling windows though either like I'm sixteen trying to impress people. I actually use my bike to tour and the speaker upgrade I made does the job. Threads like this are the reason why I could never work in customer service. My attitude is "if you don't want the fu*king things then don't buy them". If you bought them without doing your homework and are unhappy then look at it as a lesson learned on researching your purchases. I'm not just talking about speakers here but everything in general. I sold an item on eBay one time and I learned my lesson there. That fu*ker started hounding me the very next day with the "where's my package" emails. Some people just have unreasonable expectations and no matter what, they will never be happy. You could give them the fu*king product and they would still bitch. End of rant.

brypink ,,,,,

well ,, just how do YOU recommend that we test them ??,,,,

put them in the back of my Dodge Challenger for R&D prototype comparisons ? ,,,,, maybe a Honda Gold Wing ? ,,, LOL ,,,,

when building a speaker you can manipulate a wide array of design characteristics, to try and produce the best sounding speaker you can for a particular application ,,,,,

in the end, you need to test various versions ON A HARLEY, on the highway as well as siting still, until you are satisfied with what you are hearing ,,,,

if you know a better way, maybe you are in the wrong business ? ,,,,,

as for AZ BIKE WEEK ,,,,, I will personally have the J&M ROKKER StreetGlide and possibly our J&M equipped 2011 RoadGlide Ultra, set up at Hacienda Harley in Scottsdale ,,,,

I will be happy to give you a personal demonstration ,,,,

JMJOHN, No testing needed. Why not just supply the specs that the speakers are built to?? All manufacturing companies have specs. Somewhere, there is specs, supply them and everybody will be happy.

Later

There are many great systems out there for the money the B/T Titan systems are one of the best.

I have the ARC 6.5's in my fairing and the ARC 5.25's in my lowers. I am thinking of switching out the ARC fairing speakers for the Hertz. How do they compare?

Thanks,

Scott

Hey Scott, not speaking from experience but I bought my ARC's here from a guy who went to the Hertz and he and a few others said they are 2 different worlds. By far the Hertz is much better all around. Hope this helps. Everyone admits they are spendy, but worth it. I am going to try out the Rockford Fosgate stuff that Paul Yaffe sells and I started a thread about it, but the amp will not be available until the end of May. Sucks to wait, but I hope it is worth it.
