Thanks to all of the forum members that provided inspiration and technical assistance on my black-out project. I was especially inspired by Da Butcher, who has one of my favorite Ultras. I honestly was not a bagger fan until I started hanging out on the touring forums about a year ago, but now I've come full circle thanks to all the awesome bikes I've seen here.

This build took 10 months and involved 100 parts in the black-out alone (49 powder coated, 4 painted, and 47 black replacement parts). My goal was to put together a cool looking bike, without giving up any safety or performance. I wanted a bike I could log some serious miles on (I'm planning an IBA ride, one long tour, and a trip to Sturgis this summer). Overall, I'm pretty happy with the result.
