Default Bike to bike communication

Good day everyone, I'm not an electronics wiz so I thought I would ask my question here.

I have a 2010 Ultra Classic and we just bought my wife her first bike which is a 2010 Softail Deluxe, as such I would like to utilize my factory communication system on my bagger to communicate with her while she is on her new ride. What system can we buy her that will communicate with my bikes existing system? We both wear half helmets and as such require systems for those. I know I can just buy a headset from harley for my bike but what about hers? Do we have to utilize the CB? We both have full wind shields but still want a system that offers some sort of noise cancellation feature and obviously something that is very very user friendly!

Thanks for your imput. Cheers!

Scala Rider Bluetooth or similar. Too bad she doesn't have a Glide too as my wife and I do and the CB is awesome.

You can get a Cobra CB handset and handle bar mount form Sierra Electronics, along with a head set for your wife's helmet, and the Push to Talk button that mounts on the handlebar with velcro. Use the Harley headset for yours, as it will plug right into your Ultra.

Here's a picture of the parts (less headset).

I hope this gets figured so someone can explain to me-

Why I would want to have a conversation while riding about anything more important than that looks like a good place to eat or I have to pee. Anything else can wait till the next gas stop.

If you're on a group ride it's very helpful for a tail rider to be able to communicate with the guy upfront.

"Okay, we cleared the light" that kind of thing.

Hummm... Bad day maybe Ha Ha ... We have a trip planned for yellowstone and the black hills the end of july ..2 of us are Ham Radio operators and we will have our bikes equipped with communication equipment and we will use it for conversing between us and for talking to anyone else that wants to talk to us on the ham bands !.. There are 3 of us local that are equipping our bikes for communication when we ride here around our area. Why ???? Why not .. I dont do CB but its actually a really cheap way to communicate while on the road..

J&M makes a great cb that attaches to the handlebars but its pricey. Great unit though.

Thanks for all the great advise, the main reason I want communication with her is that she is a brand new rider and will be riding a fairly large bike. I simply want to be able to alert her to any potential hazards that I see and she may miss due to inexperience.

Thanks again everyone, cheers!
