Default Street glide with standard Electra glide shocks

Anybody with a streetglide swap out to the Electra glide shocks? Just curious is it's a smoother ride? It's one inch longer, so is there an actual inch more of travel possible? I'm 6'4" and don't need it lowered seat height. If anybodies done this, let me know your thoughts and why you did it?
Thanks for the replies.

I went the other way, put SG shocks on my EG. The SG's ride harsher and bottom out easy riding 2 up & loaded. EG shocks have a much better ride IMO. I ended up with an air ride system.

I did what your talking about because my wife has had a hip replacement and the shorter stock street glide shocks ride a little harsher...She now loves the more softer ride of the Ultra Shocks.
We run about 20psi of nitrogen in them.

In my experience there's a more noticeable difference in the pre-09 bikes. Yes, the EG shocks make a difference. However, the valving in the newer bikes is stiffer, so ride quality is very similar, but there is more bottoming resistance with the longer shocks.

Same here. It's much better for 2 up riding.

Put a set of new 13" 2011 Ultra shocks on my 07 SG, set pressure to 22 lbs... handles & rides better. With the rear raised up an inch, I did notice that with the taller shocks I needed to go from a 8 inch windshield to a 9 incher. But now my lift slides under it with no problem. Its a Win - Win in my book.

I put some take off Ultra shocks on my Street Glide and the ride was improved immensely. It will be worth you time.
For one example: Rail road tracks that use to bounce my butt 6” off the seat with the Street Glide shocks just glide over them with the Ultra shocks.
