Default Seems the bike is running unusually hot. Help?

I cant figure it out, maybe you guys can. I have a 2007 Road King, that I bought used. It has Rinehart TD's, stage 1 air filter, and a V&H Fuel Pak module on it. I ride it to work every day, on rides over 20 miles though it gets crazy hot! You can feel the heat billowing up out of it, and it has a engine running hot smell. I have searched and read and read and searched and to no avail. Opinions please.

Check your map setup on fuel pak website. sounds like it is too lean to me. If your setup is not listed then just call them I have had nothing but great customer support out of the fuelpak team.

www.fuelpakfi.com then do quick map lookup and enter your info.

Just a quick look I came up with map FP-0530

I have read about that happening but never to me. But being 2007 there may be an updated map for it. V&H frequently updates the maps if they find something that just works a little better. Also if you call them and tell them you are running the correct and current map but you dont like a certain aspect ie. seems flat around 2800 to 3200 rpm as in my case they tell you what modes to adjust and try to fix your concerns.

You could also check for sumping. When it's hot pull the crankcase plug and measure the amount of oil that comes out.

had a fuel pak myself wasnt too pleased with it.. if i were u id 86 the fuel pak n get the fuel moto power commander...jaime and keith go above and beyond to make sure your bike runs it's best..the $$ is right too.. just my opinion but if you search here you'll see that lot's of people have been pleased with a pciii from them...the fuel pak is too vanilla with it's "adjustments"..once again just my 2 cents.

Also...check the plugs (color)...white = hot so you're running too lean fuel.

he said crazy hot and it smells hot.. so it's hot enough to not be un comfortable..if its running lean the oil temp will be high more than likeley..so high oil temp usually equals a lean condition,as well as white coloring on the plug electrode..as stated..most people with 07 especially have noted high amount of heat being emiited from the engine.. so remap or better mod is what is needed.....
