Have a 09 RK and have been considering getting some tunes. I need somthing that is kick ***, has nothing to do w/ Ipod but has a mp3 player plug in as well as possibly a DVD Mp3 player.

I have been looking at a lot online and everyone claims that they have the best, but none offer a money back refund if not satisfied. For the $$$ that many of these systems including the batwing ones I would need som time of feedback . Many do not offer size of speakers, brand, brand of amp or head unit.

Does your Road King have a fairing ???

 

Road Kings do not come with fairing they come with windshields

 

Get the 3" CYCLE SOUNDS 200 watt system
It is LOUD on bike and if you have a Memphis Shades Batwing Fairing or any type of Hollow Fairing it will give great sound and act as a speaker enclosure.
If you are thinking of getting a Batwing Fairing then it is a different story and each Batwing Fairing company will offer you ideas of what they could put in ?
But I have heard the Cycle Sounds and it sounds better then the Ultra System on a New Bike .

 

I'm well aware that they don't COME with fairings,.but some people add them. That is why I asked................

Without a fairing,....your chances at " Kick ***" are slim.............

There are 2 or 3 systems that bolt onto the windshield, although I'm not all that impressed with any of them. About the best set-up I've seen is the Harley one. I'm looking to get that one. Give E-Bay a look.
I do have a question though, Isn't the I-pod an MP3 player or did I miss something?

 

I believe iPods have their own music format. So while they are a digital music player, the music format is not MP3.

iPod files are .aac, but iTunes can burn those files coverting them to .Mp3 or .wav, not an issue.

 

Not quite right. A touring bike from HD has a more capable stator. It will handle an small 2 or 4 channel amp hooked to a couple of marine speakers, like this ones:
