I just picked up heritage bar from another member here. I have not installed them yet. I don't have a bike lift, I won't try it without one. Ben

I have the Road King High Bars on my 05 and I didn't have to change cables or wiring. I don't know if the stocks on the 05 are the same as stock 2011s.

A motorcycle lift is not needed to install the handlebars. I've changed bars on three of my bikes, the RK included, and never had to use a lift.

i have used those bars on a 05 rk because they are narrow u do not need any cable or wire changes, did have to do a little adjusting on the brake line bent it a little straiter by hand and no problem,2 inches makes a big difference.

Did you steady the front wheel? Did you place a block under the sidestand? Thanks, Ben

Why not just change them off your kick stand?? After they are on the bike you can sit on it to get your adjustment. No lift or blocks.
