Default 2011 HD accessory book

Anyone else notice something odd on page 446? Take a look at the direction of the tires of the 3 bikes. Seems I have noticed a couple threads on here about the treads of tires being non directional but this just doesn't look right.

Yep bike in the center has the new tire that HD used to replace all those tires on 09 models that were having a cupping problem. My front had the same tread pattern as the ones on the top and bottom. But after reading about the cupping issue here I had mine replace by the dealer at the 10K service when I complained of noise and vibration.

My UK version is obviously different to your US version! What other clues can you give about that page, to help me find it?

i have a set of elite 3 sitting in my living room and i just notice both tires have the same tread pattern but they rotate in the oppisite direction of each other when mounted on the bike. The front tread looking from front of bike looks like < and the rear looks like >

yes, I did hear of a problem with the tires, But,I never noticed the difference in the pics. Hey, you could get a job proof reading ("Proof Looking") at MOCO.

If anything baggers, go look at the american elite tires. Dunlop says they are far better than elite lll. You can look outside the box.

Note, I just looked at page 446 and now see what the OP was refering to. The moco is selling engine guards, not tires on that page. They mock up any bike to highlght what they are selling, and they are not selling tires on that page.

I just looked at the E III's on my bike and the tread matches the arrow on the rear tire but not the front. Anyway the point was, and curious why the UK version is different that the pic on 446 regarding the Mustache engine guards has the one in the middle different than the one on top and bottom. BTW cooper57M, you misspelled opposite...

Thanks, you've given me a clue! My UK book has SE stuff on page 446 and no pics of a tyre. The moustache guards are on page 440.

Now I understand the query about tyres! Very odd that Harley should print those pics as they have. The top and bottom pics could be the same bike with different guards, photographed on the same occasion.

I suspect SciFiGuy has put his finger on it. The centre pic was probably taken before the tyre problem reared its head. When was that fender paint pattern used?
