2010 flhx exhaust
I have a 2010 flhx with the stock 2 into 1 exhaust. I was thinking of putting a stock 2009 head pipe on without a catalaytic converter with slip ons. I also want to put on a hi flow air breather, will the stock ecm flash from Harley for the 2010 work? Thank you for any and all replies.

No Not really. I mean the pipe will work fine but the O2 sensors are different size bungs and different locations. so you will have to either go with xieds or with something along the lines of the PCV tuner wich eliminates the O2 sensors all together and you can plug the bung holes.
use the search function and search this topic. you can read for hours about this stuff.

do a stage 1; air cleaner that breaths, total exhaust that adds power where you need it, not just at the highest rpm, a good set of cams, (the stock ones suck), and a fuel managment tuner. If you have ridden this bike for awhile, these changes all done at once will have you thinking that this is a new bike. Good luck.

sounds to me like the above header pipe from frankie might be a smart move over an 09 (because of the o2 sensor differences)- unless you want to go spendy on a full aftermarket system. ( frankie is a regular here and not a fly-by-night).
hi flow? I always suggest the ness big sucker it is a tidy install and the chrome backing plate version ( easier to wipe clean) can be bought on ebay for about $115 shipped from easternpc. the ness has a washable AND oilable filter media. it uses the stock cover and will not push your right knee out. I think this is a pretty good deal for the buck ( although there is a post on the forum of how to "put-together" the screaming eagle kit for less than the retail price- do a search)
tuning? many options depending how deep you want to go and how deep your wallet is. for me with a 96" that will likely be kept stock for reliablility and MPG, I use the XIEDS from nightrider.com- about $125 shipped.
I have ridden 96" bikes with pipes and air cleaner and no tuner- and they seemed to run great-!
and My Pal's 2011 Limited with the 103 has air cleaner, header and pipes and no tuner- runs great!
In some cases the ECM can adjust for changes we make.
In the case of my bike, I had a ping problem ( from stock) which the XIEDS cured. The Xieds will not change your rev limit if that matters to you
