these hi performance bulbs can be affected by voltage fluctuations- low voltage can be just as damaging- next bulb, check and clean plug connections ( esp. ground).
if you look at the silverstar packaging at the auto parts store they now have a "graph" which shows beam length, color temperature and now bulb life---which on the most expensive versions is much reduced.
looks like th etrade off is bulb life.
in AZ we are legal to run high beam during the day- which "may" equalize bulb wear.
on trips, I carry a spare. and I almost always check my bulb before riding, and in traffic, look for my light reflecting on the car ahead
I've gone back to stock wiring for my spots, and leave them in the "on" position- hoping that if I dip from high to low ( in the daytime) the change in lighting might better attract attention...
still working an a device to destroy cell phones in all the cars around me!

Have always run high beams during the day on my bikes since the mid seventies...
