Default 2011 Road King Classic - FLHRC

Hello everyone,

I'm very close to pulling the trigger and buying the 2011 FLHRC, this will be my first bike and long-time dream. Financially, the timing works out and I've been considering this decision for a year. Does anyone have buyer's remorse or is there any reason I shouldn't go for it?? Your feedback is greatly appreciated...

Have you ridden one yet? If not, rent one for a day first.
What kind of riding do you think you will be doing? Around town, long distance, getting lost in the country and/or mountains?

Default the road king is a great bike

Hey the road king is a great bike. The only thing I would consider before pulling the trigger, is what are your plans? Long weekend rides? Are you going to be riding 2 up? The bat wing gives you more protection from the weather, all things to consider. The road king is a great touring bike.

Purchase a new one in 09..... Love the ride. No regrets. I never wish for a radio or the faring

Best of luck and safe riding !

I rented a FLHRC last summer for the day and loved it. My plans for the bike are a mix of cruising and longer road trips. I like the fact that this bike can easily transition into either a touring or cruiser depending on the situation. Does anyone else use the bike for both?

Nice! I'm from Arizona but living in Virginia for now. My goal is to get back to AZ soon and take it all in on this bike, I appreciate it much more not living there!

Love my 2010 RKC, especially now that I started doing stuff to make it "mine". I almost traded it in on a SG, nothing against the SG's but I am glad I didn't. No windshield with the ape's when I want, windshield when I want, and I can buy a fairing with tunes in the future for even more options. To me the king is the most versatile of the touring bikes. One day down the road the king will eventually be my solo bike and I can get a RG or an Ultra for the 2 up riding with the misses.

If I could do it all over again I would have bought an older RK and bought it outright leaving me $$ to do more.

No regrets though.

I do. I'm coming from sportbikes though so the windshield and saddlebags are perfect for longer trips. Around town the windshield is off and I enjoy it immensely. It's a great all-purpose bike.
