C'mon spring cause not riding and reading this forum is making me poor but my scoot keeps looking better. Thanks to all who put great ideas and how to's on this site.

Great Point
Great point Beemervet...considered that as well but didn't mention it. Also, when I masked the inside I did not tape the edges so as not to create a sharp edge of paint to peel. By loosely taping it from behind, it's a gradual "blend".

I did exactly the same thing with my Screaming Eagle backplate and bolt heads.
The only difference is I used VHT wrinkle finish and baked it in the oven for 1hr at 2oo degrees. I had a hard time explaining this to the wife. LOL
Its a very good mod, adds contrast to the motor. looks much better than the natural aluminum finish.

Install Pics
Here are the install pics and it turned out just like I expected . Took my time taking the original AC unit and mounting bracket off so I wouldn't have to remove the fuel tank. Torqued it to specs and loctite on all bolts. Spent a lot of time agonizing over which AC cover to use and finally decided to go with the PM faceplate using the upgrade kit.
Pulled the trigger and got the retrofit PVC from FuelMoto and now it's REALLY fun to run her up through the gears. I've only got about 100 miles on it so far as winter has returned to the midwest with a vengance . Overall, it was a pretty straightforward install...followed the instructions and service manual steps and above all, took my time.
