This is what I use....... http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/344/GranTour-Bag. Put the saddle plate under the seat and attach the 4 Velcro straps, and your done.

I have a couple Nelson Rigg roll bags (good quality at a cheaper price than many others) I would mount to my drivers backrest on my Dyna. They work great and will use them on the SG as well when need more room than the saddlebags. I have the mini roll and the 250 I think it is. Just strap it to the backrest and let it sit on the passenger seat.

I have the big T Bag.
sit it on the seat, it has straps that loop around the passenger grab bar, so secure.
has back pack strap tucked away if you need, and a pocket with a rain cover- although the bag is pretty water proof in my experience.
with it on the seat i can access all pockets and compartments- the front pocket holds my maps etc.
I have the optional top roll. ( rain gear)
it has reflective piping
- and it makes a DANDY backrest.
I know that's alot of crap, but I was out for a month camping and carried a lot of tools for the old evo.
like always check craigslist--- I bought this for like, $50
