I wouldn't think the Thunderheader would hurt you. I'm betting it's in the dyno machine. Our best local tuner uses the dynostar like Ed's and his numbers seem to be higher than another guy that uses the dynojet 250i. I prefer the printout that the dynostar gives because it shows the AFR of both cylinders (two separate lines) and shows the TQ and HP at several different percentage throttle positions instead of just wide open like the dynojet does. Very nice build you've got their and nothing to be ashamed of by any means. The FM kit looks to be a lot of muscle for the money. Congratulations!

Update: clutch was slipping when you open it up in 5th gear. Installed SE clutch plate same results, stiffer spring with new clutch plate did the trick. I think, I'm done now.

"Fixed the timing, CCP is now sitting at 200psi, and back to the tuner this morning".

That seems like it might be a problem for hot starts? Did you do compression releases?

I did not do the compression releases, kind of wish I would have when the head was off. That said, it starts right up with no problems, I'll have to keep an eye on it this summer here in Texas.

So total what do you have into it? Guesstimate?

I so want to do one of these now. Sounds like a ton of performance for the money.

FM 107 Kit - 1300
SE Heavy Breather - 300
Headers/Exhaust - 700
Dyno Tune - 525 (225 DirectLink License plus 300 for the tune)
Clutch Plate/Spring - This was done by Harley since I was there for my free 1000 mile maintenance. was 375. probably could have done it myself for half that.
Misc: Oil/Lube/Gaskets/Tools - Around $200

Optional - SE Easy Install Pushrods with covers - 165

I borrowed bearing puller and press from the LBS.

I thought it was interesting on my install that the stock cam gear spacer was .130, the service manual says it should be .110. I had to use the largest spacer available from Harley to get everything lined up with the new cam which was a .150 spacer.

A little head work would get your HP numbers up. The Thunderheader is a good HP pipe. 200 ccp is a lot to not have any compression releases. Hope things work out well when the weather heats up. Gas and go's may be an issue.

Congrats.

I would have been interested to see what the deck height was on this motor. We have not built any of them that have had this high of cranking pressure, they are usually in the 190 range.
