Rinehart 4 inch slip-ons vs 3.5 inch

4" Rinehart's were probably the best looking and sounding pipes I've ever owned. I had them on my 11 StreetGlide with the cat in place and I was very happy with the sound. Nice and deep like others have said. If I weren't going to leave my new bike with the a stock set up for the first time I'd put them on my RGU. I have them sitting in boxes in the basement thinking they may become wall-art in the garage?.
Good luck with your choice.

This is good reading. I just installed some 4" Supertrapps on my '12 SG. I'd spent some time talking with the Supertrapp rep before making my final purchase so I had a clue going intot it. Comparing to my 3.5" Kerker's on my '02 RK the new 4" pipes are quieter at idle and at cruise (80mph). They definately bark when you open them up, and you can feel the pulsing through your core when you stand behind the bike at an idle but they are definately quiet. I really like the sound, not sure I'm in love with the sound. Anyway, great discussion and I'm glad to see my observations are consistent with everyone else on the 3.5" vs 4" cores.

I had a set of Rineharts on mine from previous owner, the inner pipe was "straight thru" and it looked about 1 3/4 diameter, the inside was basically the same size as the head pipe.
they were LOUD and made my ears ring.
are these pipes you are discussing straight thru, or baffled?
i found a set of '99 slip-ons on Craigslist for $20, and was thrilled, till i got home, looked thru them, and they had been cut out, so they are straight through, but only 1 1/2 or so, so much quieter, but still flow a lot...
what is a QUIET pipe, with a good tone? trying to ride to work every day,
