Default cam recommendations

hey everyone
i have an 03 roadking with 30k miles on it, i am going to have the cam chain tensioners replaced to be safe and thought while this was done i would change the cams, i want a cam set that will give me more power starting out with 2 up, but dont want anything radical

any recommendations would be appreciated

Hq-34, Andrews 21,26 are bolt in cams

+1 on the Head-Quarters HQ-0034. I've had them for several years and haven't thought about a 95" build since. Andrews 21 and 26 are popular, as is the S&S 510.

Tons of cam threads here; just use the search function and you'll have days of reading.

PS: Go to Bigboyz' website and use their cam comparator that allows you to compare the cam specs of 3 cams at once. Generally, the earlier the intake valve closes, the earlier in the rpm's the torgue increases.

Just put a set of HQ-0034 in my 04 flhrs and I am extremely happy. I was considering a 95" or 98" But didn't want to spend the money. By far the best mod I have ever done, My only regret is I didn't sooner. Once again I'm extremely happy with this cam.

Check out the Woods TW-555 or TW6-6. They seem to be pretty popular right now.

Where do you want the power to be realized? Low-end, midrange, high-end?

Depends on the riding style...

SE-255, SE-204, Woods TW6-6, TW-555 and on and on...

I'm in the same boat been lookin at doing the s&s 97" kit I have and changing my HQ 0034 cams out to something different...a little head work and comp increase....just cant get past the 2 grand it will cost,wish I had a bigger crank(DON'T WE ALL) then I'd do a 107"

looking for touring...more power going down the highway...I ride long distance and usually am pretty loaded (weight wise).
