My 08 UCEG was just asking for a change, so at this stage I am happy with my removable Tour Pak and added Danny Gray seat. You can not go wrong by removing items then adding as you get the chance.

What did you do with the mounting bracket for the Tour Pak , they have a BIG kit and then a ton of little kits? I would like to add a detachable EVERYTHING ?
I may want to put in a regular Passenger Backrest?
Right now I am adding up what both would cost with all needed on both models? It seems that the Classic is the way to go, did you lower the back like on the SG and the front?

I almost purchased the EGC when I got my bike. The dealer said they could sell it to me far less than the SG. The EG's look very nice with the Tour Pack off and a solo seat on but they still arnt as sporty looking as the SG (IMHO) cause of the chrome pieces on the front fender and the saddle bag chrome guards, rear fender piece etc. They do look sharp though but kind of yell out dresser more than the SG.

I thought about it too last summer but I figured it is easier to take off than put on and I would want the lights and I put the TP on for longer trips. . Why would you pay more when what you need is less acording to your post. HD has enough money I wouldn't give any more than I had to. I did the solo and removed the TP and had the SG hocks but went back to stock.

they both got tons of style and class. it's your money so you gotta decide. good luck. i like my streetglide, although i'm using an 09 roadglide seat cause the streetglide seats suck, as do the rear shocks. i'm using electaglide shocks on the rear and it helps a lot with the rear wheel travel/suspension. either way you go, you'll be happy.

Traded my SG for an EGC later in the season last year and couldn't be a happier dude. Spent a lot of time and $$$ turning the SG into more of a "tour-ready" bike that was far less "sporty" than the bike I bought. Put those same parts on my more "tour-ready" EGC and wound up with a much more "sporty" looking bike than I originally bought.

Current level of awesomeness not necessarily reflected in signature photo.

I've owned a few (Road King, Street Glide, EGClassic) and put a lot of miles on a bunch of the others (Softies, Dynas, etc.). I know it's only "IMO/E, YMMV, etc., but my money's on the EGC. That's a lot of bike for the buck.

Can always get the EGC and have the dealer add a 103" kit under warranty before delivery. Then do all the removable stuff as others have suggested. That's what I was going to do, really like the look of the SG but bang for buck, the EGC comes out on top (even at the same cost). Of course then I talked myself up to a Limited so that whole plan fell apart. Love what the Limited looks like with the tourpak off and lowers on...

Now I know the Classic has a few items I want for the SG (Guards- Lights- Etc. ) I would have to take off Rear back Pak-Windshield- rear shocks- and side saddlebag guards- etc. I could most likely sell alot of items and make some more cash back ? With that extra cash I could do cams on the engine and get just as much power and maybe MORE then the 103 ?
What would you do ? Save the money and get the Classic and make it what you want OR just get the SG and pay the more money and get what you need ?
Thanks for all your answers

Why are you allowing yourself to go through this **** again?

Get the bike that you wanted, that you gave up your Ultra for in the first place..

None of us can and should sell you on anything, including the dealer and that is unfair for you to put us or yourself in that position, don't ya think?

This is your decision and your's alone.
Same as it was when you sold your Ultra.

Go back and re-read your thread about when you were telling us that you were thinking about getting rid of your ultra for the SG.

Quit being so indecisive, you've already made up your mind, now stick to your guns..

We tried to tell you to keep the ultra... remember?

Otherwise what was the point in all of this?
