Default Extended Warranty AFTER first extended warr runs out??

I have an 04 (bought 3/1/04) and I got the 7 year warranty... actually, it paid for its self along the way. Well, its running out in two weeks - got a card from local dealer - yep - offering to extend that one - as long as bike is NOT 10 years old or have 75K + miles..

to extend one more year $774

2 year = $1019
3 Year = $1199
4 year = $1490
5 year = $1896

I plan to keep bike at least two more years..

So, has anyone else been offered an extended warr like this and any prices any better??

plan is through HD.

I know there are the riders that stay away from these and those that get them and never need them.. My milage now is just over 50K....

I would have to think if anything major was to malfunction it would've by now. Having said that, with 50K on now who knows... The only advice I can offer is I tend to offset my warranty with my personal mods that would void it anyway. I guess what I'm saying is if you want to stay stock anyhow-go ahead, if not don't worry about it. Personally I wouldn't bother. Just my .02 cents....

what Iam hoping for is that some other dealer is offering a better deal. Kinda like my Toyota.... found out that any toyota dealer can sell the toyota ext warr - same warr, very different cost across the US.... May or may not be the same with HD

I think the only thing I would worry about is the cam tensioners. I would spend the money on the upgrade instead of an extended warranty.

Did they just replace the stock tensioners or did you have them do the upgrade kit? If not upgraded, the extended warranty might be worth it. I don't ever do them because I do most of the work myself. It's just an insurance policy & they're making money selling it so you know they average spending a lot less for repairs than they take in for "premiums".

With the extended warr - they all have a $50 deduct - The shop manager and I talked about the upgrade kit and he did recommend it also - he said for an extra $100 he would do that - it was a deal to me, so I did go that upgrade and that also included an oil change so it all worked out just fine.
