I tried the link JMJOHN provided and got a 404 error message, but found the information using this link:

An interesting point the guy makes is that bass actually sounds better the farther back from the bike you are due to the sound wave of bass being longer; just scroll down to the end of the blog where he discusses this. He makes the point that you hear bass about 22-30 feet away from the speakers, and only hear about 1/10 of the bass sitting on the bike.

My 47 y/o ears think the J&M's sound just fine and thats coming from someone that spent thousands in car audio in my younger days. Friend of mine thats spent thousands on his bikes sound also thinks mine is pretty good. Sure, enough speed, wind and **** music that some of you young guns listen to takes away from it, but overall I'm happy.

Can't imagine what they must sound like if I sit 75' behind them...they must really rock then. Oh...Now it all makes sense! That's why (in the Rokker video) the music sounded better the further away the bike went. It never faded...not even a little. My friend got ripped! He spent $7,000 on his car audio system & even that fades a little when he drives away.
