Default Buying a Rental Bike ?

I have a Place in Orlando named EasyRider that has good prices on their Bikes BUT they are from their Rental Fleet. I am curious if any one out there has experience with the purchase of rental bikes. Most of them have in the range of 30K-45K miles on them! They do offer a 6k or 60 day PowerTrain warranty though. All valued opinions will be DEEPLY APPRECIATED!

Thanks in Advance!

Depends on how "good" the price is.

People don't tend to treat a rental with the same respect they would treat their own vehicle. I would never buy rental, but that's just me.

07's are 12k 08's are 13k 09's are 14k. That's for the "Glide" variety.

I do not know if a 2009 with 45K miles and they most likely are HARD miles and asking $14K for it is that good of a deal?
If you bought used from a private seller a 2009 YOU CAN GET FOR ABOUT $16k ? i MEAN IT is not that far off and you would get a lower mileage bike maybe 12K miles and from a seller who most likely took very good care of his bike?
I would say no.
Good Luck in your choice

used and used hard...

I don't see enough of a savings there

there are plenty of private owners who took great care of their bikes who have 'em up for sale.

you check the classifieds forum here?

I found my 09 EG Classic for $15K from a private seller, abs cruise security, 7000 miles.

The Classifieds are my next step. I just came on board. Will look diligently to see what I can find. Have a friend at a HD Dealership who is the Sales Manager, maybe he can score me a good deal on one of his Trade In's!

I know I would avoid a rental. The vehicle that owns the record for fastest in reverse: a rental vehicle. I have never rented a bike, but I do know I tend not to baby a rental car like I do my own vehicle, just sayin'.

I would check e-bay as well, last year I bought for a friend a 09 RKC with 900mi. for $17,000 (with color matched removable fairing and leather Tour-Pak) in fact a brand new bike at a good price with factory warrantee! And if you subtract the cost of the extras it would be cheaper than the rental ones.So don't rush, do your home work and you'll end up with a nice reliable bike.
