Default Road King 16" apes

Just installed 16" apes on my 06 RKC. I like the feel of the bars sitting straight up and down, although now the windshield will not fit into it's mounts (bars to far forward).
Anyone have any thoughts or ideas??

You need to adjust them back a little. Putting the windshild on should not be a problem. Welcome to the site.

I just bought an 09 RKC used and have a set of chrome 16" apes sitting in my garage that I want to put on but was looking at the windshield and I can see how it would be a problem. Ill be watching this thread. Big Jake, your bike looks great!!!

If they are kicked forward, you will have an issue with the windshield. If they are pulled back in line with the fork angle the windshild will be just fine and look good. Lot's off people have apes and still run a windshield

Yeh what Big Jake said. I have 16" wild one's and my windshield still fits. When you have the bolts loose enough to adjust your bars forward/backward, put your windshield on and adjust it as close to your windshield as you want without hitting it.

I just got my 17 inch Carlini Evil Ape's on last night and can still use my windshield, like stated above you need to adjust the bars with the clamp a little loose. I will only be using my windshield for very long rides though I like the clean look the bike has now with just the one headlight, the Ape's, and no crash bar or highway pegs.

Post some pics and welcome to the site.
