Default 2011 Ultra Limited Stock Cam Size???

I've read several posts on this forum where members have upgraded thier cams to SE-255 on thier 2011 Ultra Limited.

I was talking a mechanic on the shop this morning, he told me all 2011 Ultra Limited bikes come with the SE-255 cams, what gives??

I know, my service manual is coming but I don't have it yet. Appreciate your replies.

From everything I've heard/read, Limited's come with the same "stock" cams as 96" bikes. 225's only in CVO's.

I hear ya but I'm scratching my head why they'd tell me that. I even verified with the service manager. I was prepared to buy the SE-255 and have them do the install when they told not to bother because it comes stock with them already installed.

I have a 2011 ultra limited 103. The 255 cams woke my bike up a lot. The cams that came out are the stock 96 cams. I did the install myself.

Roger that ... this confuses the crap out of me. Why would they turn down work??? Essentially, that's what they did. Appreciate the response.

Ok ... now I'm even more confused. I called two other HD service departments and they both confirmed the 2011 Ultra Limited AND all other bikes that come with a 103ci engine in 2011 have SE-255 cams. He said they don't say 255s on them, but they are the same exact thing. I'm not a mechanic, but I'm VERY confused.

I would expect answers like that from the sales deptarment, but not the service dept. I dont think I could trust my bike to those people. The only bike that comes with SE 255 cams from the factory are the CVO 110s.

Please don't take offense, but after dealing with 3 different HD Service Departments, and talking with a service manager it would be nice if someone had a spec sheet or something that could show what size cams they come with. I know I could easily ask the same thing of the service department, and I still may, but for 4 years now their advice has always been spot on. They've proven time and time again they aren't out to take advantage of me and have helped in more ways than one.

I'm all about increasing the performance of my bike but when the service manager tells me I'm throwing my money away ... why would they tell me that and not try to make a buck??
