Default saddle bag top rails

Just a quick question for the membership, is there any creative ways to plug up the holes on the top of your hard saddle bags from the OEM chrome rails??
Thinking of cleaning up the rear of the bike, that includes removing the side rails and top rails.
I don't quite fancy putting a leather cover (Mustang seels them).

Looking forward to ur response

Regards

The penny tech way would be to buy rubber or plastic plugs from a hardware store.

The spendy way would be filler and a respray.

Chrome acorn nuts will look good. trading lids with someone who wants the top rails would work best!
Hatch.

Acorn nuts are a good idea probably about the cheapest, easiest way. There are also various styles (spikes, skulls etc) of fasteners for license plates.
Or find some replacement lids on e-bay.

Try some spiked pike nuts for a more sinister look.

For the tops of the bags you could always get mustang lid covers. I put em' on, as invariably my wife or I kick them with our boots getting on or off. The lid covers have remedied that.

I just put the Airwing chrome rails with the lights on my bike since it was recently repainted. Love the look and the fact that I have more lights. Stripping them off I wonder why you would want to 'clean up" as you say. They offer great protection, clean lines and look great IMO.

Had the same issue. I purchased some black rubber plugs that fit the holes perfectly at Orchard Hardware. Very easy fix.

If you go the acorn nut route, you go just as easily do something with the license plates bolts that have everything from 8 ***** to dice on them.
