Default Um, I'm going to need a new screen name... ;)

For years I've read the posts -

" I walked into the dealer to get this or that and wound up riding out on a new bike. "

And for all those years I been going to dealers to get parts for my 22 years old Glide, and never even came close to wanting a new bike. Well, add me to the club now gents 'cause it just happened to me.

I went in last week to get a top end gasket kit to cure the leaks on my old evo and made the mistake of sitting on a new street glide and that was it, I basically lost my friggin' mind and pulled the trigger.

Closed the deal today - 2011 FLHTX, Vivid Black, Power-Pak plus Cruise. Bring it home tomorrow.

Dealer was great to deal with, accepted a trade-in on my old glide, had a special running for the month to join the mvp club and recieve 11% off on the msrp of the bike and lifetime 11% off on parts and supplies. Can't complain at all on how they treated me.

Now I have to go make momma happy, so next week it's off to the Ford dealer to get her into a 2011 Explorer...

Looking forward to learning from all of you on the in's and out's of the new 'Glides.

Thanks and I'll post when it gets home, it's gonna take some time before the grin leaves.

All I know, is I have to figure out how to get the chrome forks without her finding out!

Congrats. For some reason my dealer says there isn't an MVP club. Is that just a dealer's choice?

Looks like 2 for 2. You are going to love that bike and she's going to really love that Explorer. Been looking for a new SUV for a few years. I think Ford did a great job.

Enjoy both.

Congrats and maybe sorry to hear too, I stay away from the 'Show Line' at the dealer, I try not to look at the rides as I set mine in for service or for some work I don't feel like doing or going in to also as you to get parts for my old scooter. No way I will let myself sit down into one, not just yet.

For me to have dressed mine to the point I have it the next logical or maybe illogical step is to go full Hog and step into a UGC or a a EG CVO and start over but I just can't step across the line just yet ut I know it will come just as you have.
