Default Adjustable cam gear

Was at Hemrick performance and watched him dyno a 07 ultra with a 107",SERT,pro pipe....and the adjustable cam gear....he did 3 runs and dialed his cam (wood 408 ) in and picked up about 6/10% torque/hp....pretty interesting stuff......might need to do more looking at this....what else could you do to get the quick gains. Didnt get a copy of the dyno so I* could post the gains.

was gonna get one when I did my 110, he hadn't gone into production as of the time I needed it, very cool item, haven't seen production piece, was a little worried about the clamping bolt and how it held the cam sprocket, and movement over time, but its a great idea. will add dollars to any dyno tune as, like my bike, exhaust has to come off to get to cam cavity a couple times back and forth and you dyno is a bundle

Default I'm Using One

I've got one on my unit. It brought my numbers up about two foot pounds on the torque. Dropping the pipe wasn't a big problem. HarleyCharlie, you would only have to drop the front pipe. It's a well made unit, I wouldn't worry about the clamping nuts backing off, they are locking nuts. I'm getting ready to install a RevPerf EMS, so the cam timing will be about the only tuning adjustment that I'll be able to make on the dyno.

I have that on my bike, amazing!! thats all I can say. the EMS is PFM!! (Pure ****in magic!) you will love it, i was very impressed with rev perf throughout the process. Its very hard to tune the bike with it. you must actually let the bike idle for 5 WHOLE minutes!! my bike started out very shaky by the time the 5 min, were up the motor didn't move!! so smooth, all the power there, crisp throttle enjoy the magic!! thanks for the heads up on the cam sprocket, I might go back in at some time and change it, dropping the piple on mine is a little bit of a big deal, but not impossible thats for sure!

While I am a fan of variable cam timing, and believe in it, In my opinion, this is for the person looking to get every single drop of available hp, out of their build, someone racing, or just wanting to brag about dyno #'s, thats all fine, got no problems with any of that, but if you are just looking for a "quicker" or even "a lot quicker" bike, you might be able to spend the money elsewhere and get "more bang for the buck" I don't know for sure. I do know theres a lot of great running bikes out there without it, could they run even better? maybe 4-8% better!

I have the cam gear on my bike. It is a good thing if you know anything about hot rodding, and engines you would know that timing of your engine to get the most out your cam is a good thing. Better gas mileage and more hp and tq. To get the gains from just timing your cams with the gear. you would have to spend a lot more money. I gained 5 in hp and 10 in tq. just by timing the cam. Hemrick performance can get the most out of your set up using the cam gear.
