Adjustable cam gear

I have the cam gear on my bike. It is a good thing if you know anything about hot rodding, and engines you would know that timing of your engine to get the most out your cam is a good thing. Better gas mileage and more hp and tq. To get the gains from just timing your cams with the gear. you would have to spend a lot more money. I gained 5 in hp and 10 in tq. just by timing the cam. Hemrick performance can get the most out of your set up using the cam gear.

I got a '08 EG with 28k miles.
I just finished a 107 build and I measured everything.
When I degreed the cams, they were basically 4* advanced using the stock cam chain and sprockets.
Maybe the chain is stretched or something is machined off.
If you need to put your cam in straight up or wherever you want, a degree wheel and an adjustable sprocket would be the way to go.

It Adjusts Both Ways
The adjustable cam gear lets you go 10 degrees advance or retarded, so if your cam is advanced with the stock gear you could zero it with this gear. HarleyHeaven, if you go on Hemrick's website, www.hemrickperformance.com I think, he has a tutorial on the gear. According to him advancing the cam timing does move the torque curve down the rpm scale. My tuner wasn't the most co-operative about the whole thing, so I only have the final dyno sheet on my tune.

Sweet Spot
That is basically correct about finding the sweet spot. It is actually a little more involved. If your cam is timed correctly you will not have inversion in your exhaust, which is the gasses moving backwards toward the engine. That is what anti reversion cones are all about, but if the cam timing is right they're useless. Like I said, go to Hemricks website and look at the tutorial, he explains it very well.
