Default Intercom and CB setup help

I recently started turning on my CB radio during the local HOG rides to see what the Road Captains were saying and found that my conversations with my wife through the intercom were also going out over the CB channel. Luckily nothing embarrassing was said. I looked through the manual and even checked with the MOCO tech support to see if there was a way to keep intercom call quiet, but the CB active to transmit conversations. The manual was all but useless as was the MOCO's tech support, who suggested I talk to my dealer... another useless conversation. This shouldn't be rocket science, but I can't figure out how I should set things up. Anyone else out there with the same issue and perhaps a solution?

Jt, as long as you have the VOX activated for Intercom, and you do not push the 'Push-to-talk' button, i.e. just talk when you want to talk with your wife, you should be ok.

As said above. I did the same thing. Just set up the VOX and leave the Push-to-Talk to the CB Radio.

No problem, you set it up like that, the only problem you should have is if your wife likes to sing to the radio.

...and can't.

Don't ask me how I know....

Yes, as stated above, only push the PTT when you want to transmit over the CB, with the VOX (Voice Operated Transmit, which it really doesn't) when you and the wife have a conversation, only your ears will hear. I don't remember exactly how to do it, but I know you push the INT button for 2 seconds to turn it on (2004) it will then be in setup I think. Then you can adjust the sensitivity of the VOX you don't want it so sensitive that the wind noise will keep it activiated. Will take some expermentation, (I wish I could spell ) My bike is in the shed covered up in its blanket and there is 4 inches of snow, you know the dirty rotten white stuff all over the ground so I am going off rote memory, which is pretty well burned up after 67 years
