Default 11 inch shocks with 18 rear

Is this possible? 11 inch shocks with a 150 70 18 rear? I want my bike to be slammed in the back since my front is lowered 2" with a 21" wheel. How low can I go with a 16 rear? I'm trying to decide on a rear wheel/ rear suspension combo this week. I want to be low. I weigh 170 and I hardly ride 2 up but it does happen. The girl is 110. Thanks in ahead.

Sure it's possible, but you're not going to have much in terms of suspension travel in the rear with an 18" wheel and those stubby shocks. BTW, what kind of bike?

I'm a fan of the slammed look, however I would never do this to my bike due to the negative handling characteristics (not to mention ride comfort). The first time you bottom that rear out in a high speed sweeper at 80mph with your lady on the back, you're both either going to need a fresh pair of skivies, or an ambulance.

Good luck, and be careful.

I have 18's on an FLHRS and just recently un-lowered it. It rode like shiat and I was scrapping foot boards at every turn. It did look cool, and it is one of the reasons I bought the bike.... It's just not worth it to me anymore, I would reather ride comfortably. In some ways it looks better not lowered because you can see more of the rear wheel. As said above, the hard bottoming out when running 2 up is damn near un bareable, not to mention the tire was contacting the inside of the fender.

if you want lowered, and good "anti-bottoming out" try these guys. 11 inches is a bit low. but this opens up the doors to get that low, safely, and painlessly,

hope this helps,

the ride is going to suffer with the 11's, scraping floorboards and a very chitty ride -- bumps in the road will become painful--don't ask me how I know.

The bike is a 05 road king. I was considering bitchinbaggers or arnott air ride. Maybe I will raise my front and inch and leave the 12 shocks rear.

I have the 12" Arnott (9 1/2" dropped) on my Road Kiing Custom running a 16" wheel with a 150/80-16 Metz 880 tire (the belt guard is notched for clearance). It's definiteley slammed when dropped!

When I'm aired up I never drag my saddlebags. I still hit the floorboard first.

I am runnning an 18" wheel up front with the HD Profile Low front forks.

I put 11-1/2" Progressive 440s on my 2009 Road King Classic. The ride was so rough I switched to 12". There is a noticable improvement in the ride with little effect on looks. I wouldn't go below 12".
