Looking to do this upgrade what to use????Andrews kit Harleys kit Bob wood has one as does T-man and Herko.........changing my cams out....let me know

 

S&S gear drive on a gear driven cam

 

I did andrew cam w/ S&S gear drive.

 

Talking about the tensioner upgrade and have the chain drive cams.Lookin at the upgrade to the new style tensioners.

I am looking to do this upgrade aswell. I was planning on tman with the se gear box? Is this a hard job and is it best to remove heads and reuse rods or cut them out and use adjustable ones?

 

it is easier to just cut and go with adjustable push rods.

 

I have a quote of 1754.00 from local dealer for the SE hydraulic upgrade and cams. I also checked on the herko kit, I believe 800.00 for the kit. I also received a quote via a friend that had his done last year of approx. 1100.00 for a indy for the gear driven upgrade installed. Waiting on confirm of the price and will do that.

1100 for gear cams, S&S kit, bearings, & install is bout right and by far a better route than tensioners of any kind

 

I just finished installing Herko Hydaulic upgrade along with Andrews 21N Cams. I kept my push rods but went in from the top.

$499 for Herko kit which has everything!
$32 for top end gasket kit
$234 for Andrews 21N Cams

Only got a short 20 mile test ride in but I like the upgrade.
