Progressive Suspension Monotube Fork Cartridge Kit for Tourin
#31
My dealer said this upgrade, along with the progressive rear shocks, would be the best money I would ever spend on upgrading my bike....I know MY DEALER WOULDN'T LIE....
But seriously, I'm planning on this upgrade also....I was unaware of the difference options regarding lowering. May be a dumb question but by lowering the front end (I have a 2010 road glide custom) is it strictly for looks or does it lower the bike as far as my feet are concerned?? Hope the question makes sense.

So does the monotube kit eliminate the air-ride equipment in the front forks?
My left side front tube is pissing oil at me so that need to be fixed and I don't think the anti-dive feature has worked on my bike in over 10 years. The front forks need complete servicing anyway as they have never been serviced before. I was looking at just getting the progressive springs and dropping those in, but it sounds like I'm still going to be dealing with a bad air-ride system.
Thoughts?

Just before leaving for Sturgis I did the Progressive Montotubes, Touring Link and 940's... The ride and handling of my bike improved DRAMATICALLY... There is one nagging problem that might force me to remove the monotubes though..
They have a CLUNK when going in to driveways or if I hit any sizable bumps while braking...
The CLUNK is unnerving and I really don't find it acceptable.

Well, I'm happy to report that I've reached 21,000 miles in my first year on board my 2012 FLHTK. I bought her new and after this first year I've made note of areas in need of improvement. The first is the front forks and rear shocks. Going with the Progressive Monotubes up front and 944's out back. Later it's going to be the air filter box, head pipes and custom tune. Can't wait to get her back. Gonna rule the road once more.
