6th gear= green light on speedo
5th gear = very loud gear whine
1st gear= shifter as far down as it will go
Neutral= green light on panel
2, 3 ,& 4 are pretty easy to figure out

My neutral indicator doesn't even work any more and I get along just fine. I guess it would be a cool add on but I can't justify it. Old lady gives me hell every time I add something else to the bike as it is. A twist of the throttle tells me what gear I am in if I am not sure. Besides I think it would be a rookie add on but that is JMO...
I would think at 15k miles a year that I'm not a rub or a poser. I had a gear indicator on my Vulcan 2000 and found it to be convenient. I ordered one. I'll add the 2nd switch to it.
If I owned a rat bike it would look out of place. Given everything else on an Ultra, it fits right in.
First off, what is the point of that thing? I rode for years with no tach and no light telling me what gear I was in (unless I was out of gear, "N"). Now that I'm on a bagger I've got a tach and that little green "6" light to tell me in in top gear. Soooo...when the hell would I ever need to know I'm in 3rd or 4th for example??? If I'm accelerating and taching up, I shift up. If I'm slowing down (or want to slow down), I shift down. So this thing is just another pointless piece of yuppie garbage. Thanks, H-D for wasting your time and effort creating a piece of useless junk instead of developing something we could actually get some use out of.
Second, it looks like ****. I'd never clutter up my bars with that garbage.
