Default Softtail Odometer

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned teh one that comes stock on the Softail, built into the Odometer viewing window. I like that one.

This plugs into the data link connector. I suppose for those that were upset about losing the 6th gear light with a gearing change, they might buy one.

And for those that are into the black housing with chrome switch caps, one would have to buy the black version then buy 71656-07 auxiliary chrome switch cap kit just to get the blank chrome plugs. You would also have cut/file down the bar & shield portion up top in order to install the chrome plug up top as that is part of the indicator assembly.

For $219 I think I can figure out what gear I'm in. Nice but overpriced.

An interesting piece that could come in handy when having a CRS attack but I agree it is a bit pricey.

i also saw that part, and it looks nice. sometimes i'm in fifth gear plugging along the highway, and if my sixth gear light isn't lit, my tach will usually let me know i'm not in sixth. that part looks neat though.

Damn ...I hate when that happens!

A tachometer is far more useful. no need for the gear indicator. I wish the tach was standard on all their bikes.
