Default 2011 Street Glide 103 Exhaust Questions

I've searched the forums before posting but couldn't find the answer I was looking for. I will be picking up my new 2011 Street Glide 103 soon and am looking for advice/experience on exhaust with this bike. Since I am trading my 09 Glide in I am not sure as to what the difference in sound will be going from a non Cat bike to a Cat bike. I currently am ok with the sound of my 09 other than the rumble could be a little lower and maybe a little louder. All the 09 has is Stage 1 download, SE Ventilator, and V&H Twin Slash Rounds slip ons. It is decently loud now.

The new 11 that I am getting I know has the Cat in it. I am looking for advice/real experience with sound and performance with this bike. I am looking to keep the changes as minimal as possible to achieve a better sound. I know what sounds good is very different to each person but I would like your opinions.

So my questions are : Will a pair of slip ons suffice? If yes, which ones in your opinion? I was thinking of Rinehart 4 inch slip ons and nothing else. Would that be too quiet with the Cat in it? I have also kicked around changing to V&H Big Shot Duals which would remove the Cat and be much louder. If I went to the Big Shot Duals would I have to change anything else? I know that the bikes are lean from the factory but you can just run slip ons and don't need to change anything else. I am not sure about the Big Shot Duals, though. If I can't just put on the Big Shot Duals, what else would I need? I would like to change as little as needed without damaging the bike or sacrificing too much performance. Any help or suggestions is much appreciated!

R&B racing is all I can say. Get the Baffeled pipe 2into1 never look back. The best power, quatlity and looks. This guy knows how to make power. Just make sure you get the baffeled pipe. I have the no baffel on my 09 and it roars. It also makes almost 200hp

I have a 2011 Street Glide, 103 ci, (with Cat in the headpipes (Australian model). I have Vance & Hines Twin Slash Ovals, SE A/C, and TTS map.It sounds great, not too loud, but nice deep tone. Goes real well, and does not run hot, even in our 100+ degree F days in summer!

I think his "200" should have been "100".

The OP seemed to be more concerned about sound than power. A 2:1 system will certainly boost performance but it will sound a bit unusual compared to what he was running.

I have thunderheader slip ons on my 11 sg and i must say i am happy with the sound. Now i usually put thunderheaders on my bikes because i like the decent sound at cruise and the deep rumble when hitting it hard. That said with my 11 that still has the cat it surely does not sound like what i am used to as far as decibels go. But if i was not looking to replace the cat to improve performance , these would certainly suffice! here is a link to my vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPP_7tcazIc

Thanks for the replies so far. Does anyone know about or have any opinions on the Big Shot Duals? Could I just add these alone or would I have to change other things to make it right like air cleaner, fuel, etc? I am probably leaning that way but would like to know all that I would have to do to put on them on. Thanks.

if your talking minimal, just swap out the cat headpipe for a stainless jackpot 2/1/2, use your stock heatshields and mufflers. The sound will be better with the stock mufflers once the cat is out of the headpipe. If it's not the sound you want, there's endless muffler choices you can put on those headpipes.
