Default COULD SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS ! (Leg overheating)

Well I really lucked out and got the chance to ride a 07 for 3 1/2 Hrs. We were so happy to take it out. Thank GOD for friends in high places and good dealers. Well we took off and had no issue with trans sound. We jumped on the hiway and opened it up. We loved it. WOW ! Well after about 15 min I noticed my leg was getting hot. Didnt think nothing about it. We kept going. After about 45 min I had to pull over. My right leg was on fire. There was a super amount of hot air blowing on my leg. I had to put my leg way up to keep it from getting so hot. We took it back to the shop. The mechanic said they had to call the MOCO and they came out on a bike. They road it and said it was NORMAL. It was just a bigger motor. He told me the way to get it to cool down was to get a differant breather and exaust. To lean it up a bit and it would help. GOOD GOD ! Is this what Harley has come to ? Has anyone else had this problem with there 07's ?

They come from factory too lean, some seem hotter than others,of course your climate temps add to this or subtract if ridig in cooler zones.Exh and some sort of fuel tuner will drop temps alittle.Bikes w/lwrs will heat you up more.

No Kidding. They do get hot because the factory settings are very lean (EPA). I fattened mine up at 700 miles. More power and runs cooler. Never looked back.

Your bike is allready too lean from the factory. I did a stage one and added to SERT. Runs way cooler now.

The reason it is so hot is because the efi is set so lean from the factory to comply with epa. When I got my 01, it fried my leg till I installed the race fueler and tuned it. The ticket on the 07's seems to be the PCIII with the O2 eliminators.

Ditto what Bountyhunter says. If not, at a minimum you should do a stage one with a fuel management system, an SERT or PCIII to richen up the mixture and cool the motor down some. Synthetic oil, such as Amsoil MCV 20-50 is also reported to lower the engine temperature by about 20 degrees.
