Default Best Seat For A Bad Back

I bought a new RKC last year and put about 600 miles on it and sence then I have herniated a disc in my lower back.
Are there anyone eles out there with a bad back (herniated disc)? What are you using for a good comfy seat? I was thinking of getting a riders back rest, just not sure if that will be enuff. Didnt really have to replace the entire seat unless I have to. Let me know what your thoughts.

I have herniated L5. Corbin Dual Tour with backrest works good for me.

I would think you might look at different shocks.

Its going to be a combination of backrest, seat and handlebars that'll cure you're problem. I don't know what year RKC you have, but the stock bars that came on them used to suck big time. I would strongly recommend a HD Sundowner WITH adjustable backrest...once you've got the seat then move on to the bars. You're going to want a set with adequate pullback that'll let you lean back into the backrest...not slouch, but sit in a upright position with your back firmly on the rest. Good luck with your search.

Wide comfortable deep seat. A backrest is a must have. Give it a try.

I have a partially fused L4 & L5. I have a Corbin 2-up gel touring seat, with drivers backrest. I have the HD brand passenger backrest too. I agree with Whiskers on this too... you can spend all kinds of money on the BEST seat out there, but if your handlebars are keeping you out of the optimal seating position, the new seat is for nothing! It is important to position your body as upright as possible. I was just able to rotate my handlebars back, and it worked for me. Hope this helps, and let us know what you decide.

I had the same issue. I personally went with a sundowner seat, and the hd non adjustable backrest. Try it out. A little pricey, but well worth it in the long run.

Broken t12. Sundowner, rider backrest, and handlebars make all the difference in the world for me. Stretching on the highway pegs helps quite a bit too.
