Currently sitting on a Road Zepplin. The bottom end never complains about the miles anymore.Lotta money but my back and tail bone used to be really painful.I hear good things about the Sundowner and Hammock seats.CandC has a really good reputation.I had a corbin dual tour and loved it.I think HD spends money to make sure the stock seats fit as badly as they do.

The factory seat on my FLHTP is the best thing that ever happend to my back. I am looking for a better handlebar option though, that really makes a difference and you will want to address that too. Riding with a good support belt also helps.

Txscoot this may help. The RZ seat is thicker than stock for sure. After I installed the seat the bars felt too low.Now adjusting the bars on a TG is not a ten minute job.In my case the bars needed to be raised maybe an inch to make up for the seat height difference.

I" adjusted" mine by lifting the trike by the grips off the ground.Me on one side and my pal on the other. It wasn't long before gravity moved those bars up about 4 clicks neat as hell.

Made all the diff. but do this at your own risk.

Tried several seats...settled on a Sundowner with a backrest. Able to go all day and then some.

6'6" tall pinstriper... too tall to be bent over all day... back hurts as I type... but it feels great when riding my Road King with a Mustang seat and my wife loves the pass. seat! I've ridden solo 1,600 miles in three days and the back felt great. just sayin'... bigdaddynewsom.com

I use the sundowner with the adjustable backrest and I love it. l5 s1 fusion surgery 10/2009 and 3 herniated discs. I can barely walk sometimes but with this set up I can ride all day most days. Plus it's a great looking seat.

I'm 6' and ride a 06 RKC and was getting back pains after riding.First thing I did was get a good seat w/a backrest (I like, and have a mustang,C&C and a Corbin),I then replaced the stock handlebars w/12.5" apes, that fixed the problem for me.At the end of last year I put 16" apes on and am more comfortable than ever.I also love the look of them.It may take you a little time and $$$ to find what works for you,but in the long run it'll be well worth it

Good advice! Another thing to check is the air pressure in the air shocks. If to low it dosn't matter what kind of seat you get, it will be uncomfortable.

Well, you'll have to share that kidney belt that you're talking about. I mean with pics, as being that you do custom work, and it helps with your back, I'm open for a look see.
Actually, I've thought about a belt for help, but I'm thinking about heat and inconvenience, unless on a long haul.
