my 09 street glide had new front wheel bearings just done under warranty at a little over 15k miles. it was noticed during a non related service last weekend. I had a new front tire put on at 7k and i am wondering if they did not repack them.

They are sealed bearings no packing required . I changed out the bearings on my 06 when I changed wheels .. so far so good...

Are A/M bearings such as Timken available?

Yeah, they're kinda like those sealed, lubed for life rear drive units that the BMW's had a few years back - in other words, total pieces of s**t!

Several people have reported bearing failures in the past, some with multiple failures. They are on the newer bikes starting in 2009. My 03 is in for service and I asked the tech if to check mine out because of all the chatter I have heard on this forum. He told me the problems are 2009 and up because the bearings on the touring bikes have changed.

Mine where replaced around 5K miles when they replaced the 407 tires. Then again at 22K when I felt a wobble in the front. I will replace them everytime I replace tires. Hopfully I don't have to more often. I check once a week when I wash bike. I put it up with jack to make it easier to wash wheels.

When they showed them to me I could see the small ball bearings in a track. I guess that means they took them apart to confirm the problem?

My 09 RKC went 37k before I changed the front. The plastic cage fell apart on the left side...
