As stated, avoid Fram. That company has chosen to rest on their reputation years ago instead of maintaining the quality of their product. Cut one apart and you will see first hand, cheap components.

I use K&N oil filters or HD chrome. K&N being first because of the nut welded on the filter making them easier to change.

I get the house brand from J&P or Dennis Kirk with the nut on the end.

I have to agree with you on the K&N, that nut makes life a little easier.

I like K&N, use them in all my vehicles. They do not filter down to 5 microns (20 microns maybe??), however, the HD one does. Does this mean that the filter will "clog-up" sooner? 5 microns is pretty dang small, considering the human hair is 18-80 microns.

Just curious.

Got the bill from filter1.com, suprize both filters went up.The black
5 micro #57148 is now $7.44, the chrome 5 micro #57348 is now
$12.02. I will have to run the numbers next time even with free shipping
and no tax charges. .......Tenn.Vol.
