Loc-tite is designed to be easily removed with a little heat. It doesn't matter if it is blue, red, or green, if it is heated, it will soften right up and be easily removed. Even if the bolt is just tight, a little heat could work wonders. We aren't talking a lot of heat here. You don't have to turn your bolt cherry red. Nice and easy does it.

So putting the wheel in the camp fire while the Brats cook isn't necessary?

1: Penetration oil ( I like liquid wrench or ATF in a pinch)
2: Bit in bolt head then a few decent whacks with hammer of choice
3: Apply pressure TIGHTENING the bolt
4: Loosen the bolt.

You can buy a heat gun for around $20,better than using an open flame.

Might be a good time to tell all to invest in a can of Kroil. Top notch penetrating oil. Started using it while working on my 1949 Cub and wont be without this stuff.

Get a center punch and hammer, Hit the bolt in the center with the punch. Bolt will come loose.

Thanks for all the good suggestions. I applied heat using MAPP gas and got one to break free. Then ran out of MAPP, so I moved back to propane but the heat output just wasn't enough as the others didn't budge! I agree that WD40 wasn't the best choice, but it was all I had last night, so they're still sitting in it.

So here's the plan: I'll pick-up "real" penetrating oil on my way home today. I will bring my oxygen/acetylene tanks in as I've got a small brazing tip which will place heat precisely where I need it - on the bolt head. And I'll give it a few solid whacks. I'm pretty sure the other 4 bolts will break free.

I use pb blaster. spray, tap on part spray some more. Let sit, 15 min. spray, tap on bolt.
Then try jarring it tighter with one good wrap with hammer then try to loosen.

That pb blaster has worked on exhaust bolts on my car and other things. Good Stuff.

I have a solder gun but no torch. I try to deal with everything stuck with penetrating oil and maybe a breaker bar. Tighten it, loosen it, repeat, more oil. I have different size electric conduit cut in 16 - 24 inch pieces I slide over the end of my wrench or socket and gently nudge it with out snapping it.
